Our mission

Raymond James Charitable is committed to strategically investing in the communities it serves by supporting the work of nonprofits to expand opportunities and improve the quality of life in localities across its national footprint.

Inspired by Raymond James Charitable donors’ philanthropy, the Raymond James Charitable board of trustees created a grant program to provide grants to selected nonprofit organizations that exhibit a positive, enduring influence in their respective communities.

This year, the board elected to fund charities whose work focuses on food security efforts. 14 charities were selected, with the initiative distributing over $245,000 in total grants.

Shalom Farms Named 2026 Grant Initiative Recipient

Raymond James Charitable is proud to recognize Shalom Farms as a 2026 Grant Initiative recipient. Based in Richmond, Virginia, the nonprofit works to build healthier communities by growing and sharing fresh, nutritious food.

In a region where more than 20% of residents experience food insecurity, Shalom Farms addresses both immediate needs and long-term inequities by connecting local food production with neighborhood-based distribution. Through programs like its Mobile Market and partnerships with regional growers, the organization helps ensure families have access to affordable, culturally relevant food.

Support from Raymond James Charitable is helping to expand Shalom Farms’ impact by enhancing food access, increasing production, and strengthening the local food system to better serve thousands of neighbors across Richmond. This effort was recently celebrated at a check presentation to highlight the meaningful partnership and shared commitment to strengthening communities.
