Charity qualification process

As a DAF program sponsor, Raymond James Charitable must ensure that any organization we send a grant to meets IRS qualifications specific to donor advised funds. To do so, we request that each charity submit an Acknowledgment of Qualification form and other supporting documentation in order for our team to conduct our due diligence and approve your charity to receive grants.  

For an organization to qualify to receive a grant from a Raymond James Charitable DAF:

• The charity must be classified as a 501(c)(3) public United States organization, a religious organization or a governmental entity
• The charity cannot be a disqualified supporting organization

    For our purposes, this includes 1) any supporting organization which supports a public charity directly or indirectly controlled by a donor, donor advisor, or related person, as well as 2) any Type III supporting organization that is not “functionally integrated” with the charitable organization it supports.

• The charity is prohibited from giving a private benefit to the donor, a donor advisor, or a third party.
• The charity is prohibited from using grants received to fulfill a legally binding pledge from the donor or donor advisor.
• The charity is prohibited from using grants received for campaign, lobbying or political purposes.
• The charity must use grants received exclusively in furtherance of its charitable purposes.

If your organization meets the qualifications outlined, please submit the Acknowledgment of Qualification form and other supporting documentation (as indicated on the form) to RJCGrants​@raymondjames.com.

Once you submit the requested items, our team will review the information and reach out if anything else is needed. If approved, we’ll let you and the donor know that they can now request grants to your organization.
